BiOptic "Qexp-FS Meat 5-species kitTM" can rapidly define the species of the meat by Q-AnalyzerTM. The entire process takes only about 60 minutes.
"Qexp-FS Meat 5-species kitTM" can distinguish beef, pork, chicken, sheep or goat meat, and because of the high sensitivity of the whole platform, the meat can be successfully tested for severely damaged meat products after cooking and seasoning.
BiOptic "Qexp-FS Meat 5-species kitTM" utilizes DirectGOTM PCR reagent with specially designed multiple primer pairs to directly amplify the gene from the sample by multiplex PCR with Qamp MiniTM mini-PCR Thermocycler without gene extraction step. After the species-specific gene been amplified, the Qsep series automated capillary electrophoresis platforms can rapidly analyze the PCR product and display the result of analysis for defining the source of the meat by Q-AnalyzerTM.
As the demand for food research and monitoring continues to increase, simple and fast solutions are needed. This article describes a workflow that rapidly determines the identity of meat in the field using the Qampmini Thermal cycler for PCR-mediated DNA amplification and the Qsep1 Bio-Fragment Analyzer (both from BiOptic, Inc., New Taipei City, Taiwan) for the analysis of PCR product by capillary gel electrophoresis.
